Searching for string in a git log – the best way

The usual way I searched for given string in a VCS log was via grep. Well, not anymore.

The secret command is

git log -SfunctionNameGoesHere

– and you are treated to a lovely log with commits that HAVE the

functionaNameGoesHere

in a changed part.

Now that is indeed, awesome.
